See the webinar given on 7 March by David Obura on strengthening global coral reef monitoring and reporting to meet global conservation and development needs. This was given as part of the GOOS webinar series.
Following this link to the recording.
Description: In 2017-2020 a programme is being developed to strengthen the Global Coral Reef Monitoring Network (GCRMN), an International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI) operational network. The process will implement standards developed under the GOOS Biology and Ecosystem’s Panel and GEOBON’s Marine BON to strengthen and upgrade monitoring programmes organised under regional operating networks. The focus will be on improving standards for measurement, generating Essential Ocean and Biodiversity Variables, and increasing the readiness and sustainability of monitoring programmes and networks. The process will be designed to meet the needs of conservation and management planning, measuring the Aichi Biodiversity Targets and Sustainable Development Goal Targets, and to strengthen information flows to support local management and decision-making.
Dr David Obura, Director of CORDIO East Africa gave this webinar on Tuesday 7 March, at 14:00 UTC/GMT.
